POLY-TECTOR™
Withstands 100,000lb Force
During a recent installation in Oman, the Poly-Tector™
Cable Protector (patent pending) was put through a severe test. The
operator was deploying 6,000ft of 2 7/8” tubing into a 6”
open hole, which had been untouched for 8 years. Unfortunately
the operator did not perform a ‘wiper’ trip before hand, and 1000
ft into the reservoir section, the string became stuck in both directions.
Following 8 hours of working the string hard,
the driller used forces of up to 100,000lbs to free the string.
Fortunately, they did not part the string, and considering the forces
used and the continual working of the string, were amazed to find
that all Poly-Tector cable protectors were still intact and
on the pipe. This highlights the tough properties of the these cable protectors, in particular - impact resistance.

Umbilical Type POLY-TECTOR reaches Angolan depths - September 2004
PolyOil Limited are proud to be associated with recent Deep Water Completion running activities in Angola. The pioneering completion combined with tree running system was engineered by the operator to save several thousands of pounds in equipment deployement time. The Poly-Tector umbilical units complemented this by allowing fast, easy and safe installation of critical umbilical lines in over 6,000ft of water.

The operator went on to report that:-
" The job went very well and
there were no problems with the guys running them, finding them very easy to use !"
